Clearing a frame sends previously made frame backwards

Post by dignus »

Hello!
I am not sure if this is a bug or some sort of a function i have activated, but i noticed that when i clear a frame with the "Backspace" button, it not only creates a completely clear new frame but also sends a previously drawn frame way back, often times squeezed inbetween already drawn layers. It really messes with the sequence and timing. It has never done this before the update to the latest version. The only other option i can think of is that it might have something to do with my graphic tablet's latest driver update, although it does this even with the tablet and its driver turned off, simply pressing the backspace button on my keyboard.

I work on a windows 10 pc, TVPaint 11.7.0 Pro, 64bit. Huion Kamvas GT-156HD V2 Pen Tablet Monitor.

If there is any other useful information i can provide, please let me know!
Thank you!

You mention "update to the latest version" , but you list your version as 11.7. The latest version if 11.7.1 .
Are you using TVPaint 11.7 or 11.7.1 ? (I'm not sure if this makes a difference , but it might provide a clue to the developers of where the bug originates)

I can't reproduce your issue , but I'm on MacOS , not Windows , so that may also make a difference.

The way the software behaves when cutting or deleting frames is affected by the Preferences for Default Cut Mode and Default Delete Mode. Perhaps changing the preferences for Default Delete Mode will help ? (although I have tried reproducing your problem by changing these preferences to each different option and could not reproduce your problem on my end).

Does the same thing happen if you use use the skull & crossbones button to clear a frame instead of using Backspace key ?

Hello! I checked it again and i really have missed out on the 7.1. update for TVPaint! I am not sure how that one slipped by, my apologies! I've been working in the real "latest" version now for a bit and so far the issue has not re-appeared! Thank you for your patience! :^)

I'm glad to hear that the problem went away when you updated to version 11.7.1 . I wasn't able to reproduce the problem on either 11.7 or 11.7.1 , but as long as it's working for you properly now , that's the important thing. Still , I wonder what caused that odd behavior to happen when deleting a frame ?
