Moving an image from the Library to project window?

Post by BruceM »

I have a reference image I've stored in the Library. How do I then move it to the project window to use it?

Open FX Stack > Keyframer. Set Source of Keyframer as Image Library, select the image you want from the Library , then click Apply FX Stack.

(click on image to view it full size)

If you need to bring in the image at different size or position, make the adjustments with the Keyframer Position X - Y - Z coordinates first before clicking Apply FX Stack.

You could also click on the image in the Library and choose 'Create a New Project from this Image' .

EDIT: Thierry reminded me today that you can also create a Custom Brush from an image in the Image Library. Yesterday when I replied to your question I completely overlooked that option even though it was right there staring me in the face. I can't think why I didn't mention it yesterday along with the option to Create A New Project from Image.

If you create a custom brush from the image in the Library it has the advantage of letting you position the image precisely where you want it to be on the canvas.

It would be nice if they could make it so you right-click the image in the Image Library , chose Copy, then go to a layer on the Timeline and Paste.

Or drag-and-drop the image from the Image Library window into a layer . (in fact , I think I'll post that as feature request).
