Hello,
When in preferences tab my system's memory shows as 2048 although
i have 3GB installed..
any ideas why is that? or if it actually means that TVPaint cant see all the ram?
We are about to upgrade with 2GB more on this system will TVPaint see the extra ram?
...
(and the most important question do we need more? for 2K or HD720 work?)

3GB ram shows as 2GB ram on 8.5.8 OSX (in Preferences)

Hi
TVPaint can use all the RAM that Windows can give.
To use more than 2GB, you need some change in the windows configuration.

The size is limited to 2GB only for the cache, TVPaint can use more.

This has nothing to do with windows :)
The size you set in preferences is the cache size, and it can't be greater than 2GB, but the rest of the memory will be used by TVPA for everything else but caching.
TVPA won't use more than 4Gb, but depending on the other apps you're running AT THE SAME TIME than TVPA, 1 or 2 additional Gb can't hurt.

sorry i didnt make it really obvious by just saying OSX on the subject
but i am actually using OSX
but i suppose that that doesnt really matter sicne the size of "physical memory" as seen is the size that can be used for caching?
btw i have automatic in the caching size...
here is what i am talking about...
