Hi,
I have just installed a new codemeter license server and activated our licenses without issue. When trying to test software activation on my client the software fails to run and the below is shown in the client and servers logs. Any idea what the issue is?

License server issue Topic is solved
Re: License server issue
It says "entry not found", meaning the Codemeter driver didn't found any license.chrisdlau wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 15:01 Hi,

On the client you need to configure the license server IP. Open the Codemeter control center, click the webadmin button (on the client computer) : A web page should open for administration. Select the license server from the bottom left on the page :
Re: License server issue
Hi Xavier,
Thanks for your response. It does find the IP automatically, but I have also tried putting the IP in to no effect. The fact that the server has logs for the attempts suggests to me this isn't the issue and that something else is causing it. I probably should have mentioned I have stripped out some of the detail specific to me from the logs which is why the IP and user info is missing.
Thanks
Chris

Sorry for the delay, this is not the right place if you need a quick answer. Please open a support request via the "contact" section on the website.
Re: License server issue
I'm not sure about what a license server would put in the logs. Wouldn't do any assumption ! however, it does not explicitely say "license requested from this client IP".
Re: License server issue
Hi Xavier,
Thanks for your help, I tried testing on a different client and its working fine. Not really sure what was happening but suspect it was related to having upgraded the computer from a dongle version of the licensing. Have since rebuilt both computers from scratch and both appear to be licencing now.
I have a couple of related questions, in the server license monitoring it shows the activation is linked to the IP rather than the hosts mac address, does this mean that if the DHCP lease changed we would need to reset the activation and re-activate? and are these not floating licenses that can be used on up to x computers out of y at time?
Thanks
Chris

Re: License server issue
Ignore my related questions, I have just realised that I just needed to refresh the page on the license server and its working as expected.
