Color CTG layer not completely filling in
Hello TVPaint community,
I am using a normal standard pen brush and when I create a new CTG Color / Texture layer, the color doesn't completely fills the drawing, there are some pixels which do not cover the edges. I have attached some screenshots of my pen settings and the problem I'm having with the color layer. When I watch the tutorials online, everyone seems to have no problem using the CTG color layer, I'm baffled as to why I am having this issue. Thank you in advance and hope to hear from anyone soon !

Re: Color CTG layer not completely filling in
I recognize this issue, we also have it.
CTG seems to have some sort of assymatrical fill bias, wher it favours bottom and right side of an area
and leaves some room at top and left side.

Same issue here. It makes the CTG Layer kind of useless, because now I still have to go through all the frames and fix the pixels..

Re: Color CTG layer not completely filling in
The only time I've ever had this issue of CTG not completely filling in is when I've worked with scanned drawing where there are almost "invisible" little lines that were on the original pencil drawing, usually a blue or red color pencil line that was used for construction , then cleaned-up in black line ... the scanner filters out most of the blue or red under-drawing, but sometimes barely visible artifacts of the blue or red lines will be there on the scans as light grey lines ... CTG will sometimes perceive those very thin grey lines as a separate color area so it fills around it and leaves a gap. But I don't get that issue with digitally drawn clean-up drawings. If anything , I feel like CTG is often too aggressive with filling and colors will tend to "over spill" into adjacent color areas , even when there are no gaps in the lines.

Re: Color CTG layer not completely filling in
I wonder why does this topic have a green check mark showing the issue as resolved ? It doesn't seem like anyone from TVPaint Development team ever responded to this issue (unless they responded by PM or email ?) . The original poster didn't report that the issue had been resolved.
So why the green check mark ?

Yes indeed anoying.BeniMorard wrote: ↑23 Sep 2022, 16:15 Same issue here. It makes the CTG Layer kind of useless, because now I still have to go through all the frames and fix the pixels..
though you can automate the fix somewhat by applying the "expand" FX on the extracted colorlayer.
this will add an edge to the colorlayer that respects the multicolors present in the colorlayer
this makes it a a one click solution

Hi David, this issue is currently being analysed. The green mark was probably a mistake.D.T.
