Hello!
I was wondering if it was possible to create an action that would copy the content of the previous instance and paste it in the current instance in one click?
I've tried to wrap my head around how it could work, but I'm fairly new in setting up actions and shortcuts in TVPaint, I figured that someone might have done this already?
Just looking for ways to speed up my workflow, if I can avoid selecting, cutting, pasting and moving around in the timeline too much, that would be super useful for me.
Thank you !

Re: Duplicating previous instance content in one click
I just grab the handle and expand that frame to one exposure. The moment I draw in that last frame it becomes a new instance because I have auto-break activated.

Re: Duplicating previous instance content in one click
Easy : select the instance to duplicate, then copy (CTRL+C) and paste it (CTRL+V) where you need !
Otherwise, there should be a keyboard shortcut that suits your needs : Note : before anything, it's best to tell us your current setup.

Re: Duplicating previous instance content in one click
Thanks for your answers. Unfortunately, this is not quite what I had in mind, the idea is to be able to duplicate the CONTENT of the previous instance in one single click, without having to change anything in the timeline. The duplicate and paste messes up the timeline a bit, and you have to go in and rejig the frames, which is not efficient for what I'm doing (I'm aware this is tiny details, but I have a rush job at the moment, so every keystroke counts).
I've managed to find a way to have almost what I wanted using a combination of the bucket tool with the Panto option set to the previous frame. So with two click I can duplicate the previous frame and focus on drawing/warping elements of the drawing.
I've added my setup information in my signature

Thanks Sven, I did think of that but I got a bit overwhelmed with the list of actions possible, this would work great, I'll test it out

Well, it sort of works, but I think only when the new frame is an exposure... I hope it serves to save you keystrokes.

Re: Duplicating previous instance content in one click
Hello, a small update on this. I've finally found a way to design the action how I want it to work! It's very hack-y and I don't believe I've covered everything that can happen, but it works as intended ! Just one click and you'll be able to transfer your next (or previous) drawing to the current instance. No need to fiddle with the small timeline squares or create unnecessary layers. Here's an overview of the script. (The script assume that you're working with the white background mode)
