Something I really like in TVP is the speed at which I can create reasonably good-looking animation. This was done in about 3 or 4 hrs yesterday, inspired by this drawing by Elliot Cowan: https://twitter.com/ElliotCowanYes/stat ... 40/photo/1 (with permission).
I'm still experimenting a lot with different ways to make everything look organic and spontaneous. Background and outlines are solved problems now, and I think I have a solution for a coloring with "living textures" here. I made a brush of 7 bitmaps of the "hatching" and let it go randomly through them. The birds are first colored completely white, then this layer is used as a mask for the textured stroke, finally I erase the eyes from that again. Fast work, of course only possible with a character like this. But so much fun!
What do you think? Shall I make this into a complete film?

As I said, it's just improvised now. If this is going to be a film (and Elliot likes the idea), I'll do really good sound as well (as I usually do). Maybe something with synthesized bird calls like Oskar Sala did fro "The BIrds".

This looks so much fun, the art is translated very well into animation as well, great job!
I think you nailed the organic and spontaneous style as well. Would be great with a recording of how you made it, you seem to have used some neat methods to achieve this look.
So the description in the first post is not clear enough? It's really not more than that.
