Keep working while loading in the background

This is a very simple request that has been brought up a few times before
(sorry if i forgot how and when... i couldn't find it back on the forum)

When working on a production where i handle many tvp projects over a sometimes slow network
it is quite frustrating that TVP locks during loading.

Why cannot TVP simply do the loading in the BG?
now i have to wait sometimes up to 5 or more minutes....
