Thanks for the fix!

Did this announcement also go out to the entire database of TVPaint users via an email ? The reason I ask is because I didn't see this announcement in my email this morning. I'm just thinking about the many TVPaint users who rarely or never frequent this forum. If they don't get an email prompting them to update , how will they know ?

Perfect timing. Thanks for the fix. Missing plugin error hasn't shown up yet.
I do have a minor suggestion for the next update though. Once i'm not in the software anymore and i want to switch back into tvp, i need to click the workspace with my mouse. It registers my cintiq pen, but it wont draw/function till i clicked somewhere with my mouse.

Since the latest update for the Linuxversion TVpaint no longer remembers which brush I had been using before and now defaults to eraser after every restart.
Is there a way to restore the default behaviour?

You probably use the upper tip of your pen, right ?

Check your "General" settings, which one do you have ?

These checkboxes are exclusive, you can enable only one of them at the same time.
  • If you check the first (#1 on the picture), you should get the freehand eraser tool when you use the pen eraser (the upper tip).
  • If you check the second (#2 on the picture), the drawing mode should change to erase when you use the pen eraser.
  • if you check none of them, then you can have a separate brush at the tip of your pen :)

I use both ends of my pen. The front to paint, the back to erase.
I neither want nor need TVpaint to automatically determine what my eraser is. Most of the time I do not want my eraser to be based on the brush I'm using.
The previous behaviour was so that I could use 2 seperate pens each with different properties for the front and back tips. Now they both default to an eraser for the front and back.

Usually the eraser is configured by the tablet driver. On Linux it's a bit more complicated, since there's no official Wacom driver. Maybe this : https://linuxwacom.github.io/

If you prefer not to have the eraser mode when you use the top tip, you can have the free hand eraser (enable #1) or the brush you want (disable both).

I encourage you to test the different modes: try what you prefer having #1 or #2 enabled, and try also disabling both.

I have tested all modes, hence my post.
I'll see what options linuxwacom offers.
