Improving Color Select Tool from TVPaint 11.5 Updated 12-27

I think it needs to be further be refine. It needs to act like a lasso. Lasso Color Select not One Click Color Select. I'm not sure how Color Select Tool is different from Magic Wand Tool.

Because it needs to select color and value if you were to use a soft blur brush area. Or Soft Gradient Blur Brush Area. The inbetween values.

Maybe you can also add that selection is affected by the 'above' layer, the line layer. Lasso Color Select. Color Selection Lasso that gets seperated, affected by the line layer. Or add option color lasso selection can be seperate or not seperate.


Speaking mostly for illustrators and maybe some animators.

Yes, the color select is basically a magic wand that matches color only.
Currently it will highlight (select) all the areas with the same color in the whole picture.

By lasso, I assume that you talk about the free hand selection tool ? how would you like to combine it with the color select tool ? I'm trying to understand

Yes. But the color and luminosity can be greatly differently especially when do 'varied color gradient faded opacity' brush strokes. I want to select range(not by numerical input range, but selection range within the lasso) of colors and luminosity in one fell swoop non-contigous mostly or contiguous. The magic wand selection is like mostly for flat 2d animation. The one I'm talking is like design for anime illustrations, color selection.

Yes range of varied color and luminosity combine in one fell swoop from a lasso. And clarifying color plus luminosity within a lasso as range selection.
