can we have the shift mode on a custom brush?

This section is dedicated to the feature & improvement requests (be sure what you are asking does not exist yet in TVPaint Animation ;) )

can we have the shift mode on a custom brush?

Post by Peter Wassink »

Its only the Special brush that has Shift, Smear, Mixer etc.
I'd like to do the special brush using a custom brush shape instead of the standard circle/elipse.

so the request would be to add these modes to the drawing modes list of the custombrush.

Isn't that related to the "wet profile" of the custom brush ?

Only slightly related. The Smear Stamp is more like the 'colorsmear' drawing mode of the special brush.

What i want is a custom shape combined with the 'shift' drawing mode of the special brush.
If possible i would like that shift to be able to rotate the pixels it is shifting.
And with rotate i mean according to the Angle connection in the toolsettings.
so a SHIFT + angle connection

That way you can really 'massage' pixels exactly where you want them, like a painter would with his brush.

Dean asked me to have a look at this. Actually it's a little tricky to do, because the special brush is well... special :|

Still, it may be possible to do. Give me some time to sharpen my knowledge of TVPaint ^^
