Journey to the West_Scene_Test (Personal)

Post by lam giang »

Hello guys,
I haven't been animating much on my personal time for awhile. However, I recently found an old Chinese Journey to the West illustration book. There old brushwork illustrations were so beautiful and charming. I tried to read it on Bart and finished. Here are my inspiration piece from it. I did the BG in mimicking old Chinese painting. For the character, Monkey King, I approached it in a more modern drawing style, clean and rather flat. I liked the test. But I do think there are more room for pushing. In the future, I will push the Chinese decorative elements a bit more...etc, thanks and hope you all like it.

Did you do the whole thing in TVPaint? I think it looks really good.

Hello Iemec,

Thanks! I did not creat the full scene in tvp. I used photoshop for painting. Spine animation for monkey king loop and then compose everything together in TVP. However, i can see we can do all this in tvp tho. I just want to change up ky workflow a bit to incoporate spine in the process :). Hope that answer ur question.
