Hello Mr Takagi, after some investigation, we found what is causing this issue and it has been fixed for next release.

Yes Mox your method works every time!
And scrolling/panning erases the afterimages. Bug has been added to the tracker, thank you both.

Hello Mr Takagi, in this user's "startup" section of the TVPaint Preferences panel, is the startup configuration set to "remember last used configuration"?
I'm suspecting that the "dont show again" setting doesn't get registered in the configuration file.
