Re: TVP12 Cramped timeline
Its been tough since most professional cpu-less screen tablets remain to be 16:9, I've seen some 16:10 which is a little better but 4:3/3:2 is a perfect ratio in my opinion I agree about the tablet aspect ratio. 4:3 is better. I'm still getting mileage from my old Cintiq 21UX which is 4:3 , but I&q...

Re: TVP12 Cramped timeline
I also used & prefered 21ux(4:3) than 22(16:9) for several years, because of ploblems of animators - vertically narrow space by using the timeline. and If the screen is FHD or the tablet size is small, It'll make works harder. I agree that as much space as possible should be preserved in the in...

Re: Is it possible to use 11 after the upgrade to 12?
Are you still able to use 11 today D.T. Nethery? I was able to run(switching back and forth) 11 and 12 yesterday, comparing some things. Today I get an error message about my license if I try run 11, so I assumed if you upgrade you can't use an older version , which makes sense. When looking at reh...

Re: TVP12 Cramped timeline
At first glance, it does seem like a lot of wasted space. I think the reason for adding the extra space and the "three dots" was to provide a visual clue to users that they can click, hold , and drag the Title Bar up or down . I gather that in the previous versions of TVPaint some users fo...

Re: Is it possible to use 11 after the upgrade to 12?
Is it possible to use 11 after the upgrade to 12? You can retain your TVPaint 11 on your computer alongside of TVPaint 12. Multiple versions of TVPaint can live together on the same computer , you just can't run them simultaneously on one license. Use one or the other as needed. (I found this out w...

Re: Import Photoshop swatches
What are "swatches" is that a photoshop file format for a palette? Yes, a swatches group (palette) can be exported from Photoshop as an .aco file. There may be other applications that can import .aco file (I think Clip Studio Paint can do it). I believe that is what he is asking for in TV...

Re: Having an issue with the Keyframer
It has likely to do with the selected source... Under Source Tab, if you choose "current layer" as source and then at the bottom of the FXpanel set it to "Apply on 'current layer'" tvp will then use the current layer both as the source and destination resulting in the described ...

Re: Easiest way to toggle between Brush and Eraser?
Been watching hours of official tutorial videos over the past few months and something still confounds me - when I'm using a brush, pressing E correctly enables the eraser, but I haven't found a good way to return to the brush? B doesn't seem to work. Usually I was pressing SHIFT+E to go back to th...

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
we have a few leads on this situation but thorough testing is going to take some time. If it helps you in tracking down the source of the problem, I will note that with versions 11.7.1, 11.7.2, and 11.7.3 I have not experienced any crashing behavior , but I am on an older Intel chip Mac (Mac Mini 2...

Re: Filled stroke fill inside option only works with the source set to layer
For what's it's worth in tracking down the source of the problem , I can not duplicate this issue on my end, using TVPaint 11.7.3 on MacOS 12.7.1 Monterey. Fill Inside with Layer as source or Display as source works correctly on my end. Maybe it is a Windows bug ? I had a look at my layer structure...

Re: Color faded when exporting ProRes MOV
As an alternative to VLC there's MPV with which you can use the keys , (comma) or . (full stop) to go one frame backwards or forwards. And it can play the ProRes videos generated by TVPaint. Thanks for the link to MPV. I had not tried it before. It works very well for stepping through video one fra...

Re: Can George check if we're in Project or Clip: Timeline tab?
To be honest, I think TVPaint be able to do this out of the box. It's very basic functionality . I'd be happy to learn that a TVPaint updates makes these scripts obsolete. I agree. There have been some amazing scripts and custom panels contributed by users over the years that are part of my regular...
