Re: Multiplane Camera Wizard - create planes from Image Library
By the way, I have a question about the units of measurement used in the Multiplane Camera. This may seem like a silly question, but I have never really understood it clearly. By default the Multiplane Camera Wizard arranges planes 100 units of measurement apart in the Z Depth plane --- -100 , -200 ...

Multiplane Camera Wizard - create planes from Image Library
Using the quick set up Multiplane Camera Wizard we can currently create planes from Open Clips or Current Layers , but I think it would be useful to have the Wizard also be able to create planes from Images in the Image Library.

Re: Strange artifacts appearing in TVPaint 12
Hello David, yes it looks like something is not refreshing fast enough in the interface. If you find a way to reproduce this easily or not too randomly, this would be a great help. I should have mentioned in my first post that when this happens (seemingly at random) it is almost always when I've be...

Strange artifacts appearing in TVPaint 12
I have meant to post about this for some time, but it only happens from time to time and is not too annoying ,so it slips my mind to mention it here. However it just happened again and so I made a screenshot and am uploading it . What causes this strange artifacting in TVPaint 12 ? (it does not happ...

Re: Importing Files TVP12pro
Nothing about the import procedure has changed from v11 to v12 as far as I can see. If you open files from the File Menu > Open/Import , or drag-and-drop the first file in an image sequence onto the TVPaint project interface , the Import Footage window will open. You have four options for importing ...

PETER AND THE WOLF on HBOMax animated with TVPaint Animation
'Peter and the Wolf' on HBOMax was animated with TVPaint Animation. The production company for the animation was Blink Industries . Some of the animators and clean-up artists who worked on the film have started posting their line tests on Instagram and elsewhere. The hand-drawn animation is combine...

Handling of Non-Preloaded Video files needs improvement
This is a long-standing improvement request (for example see: https://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?p=104284 ) TVPaint still needs improvement when unchecking the "PreLoad" box , so that TVPaint is only referencing the source video file, but is not completely importing/loading the full v...

Re: ESC key doing a proper job :]
+1 . This is very important to fix the ESC key function in TVPaint so it actually allows the user to escape from the FX Panel or other processes because otherwise this leads to frustration and lost time. Often FORCE QUIT is the only solution to get out of it because pressing the ESC key is unrespon...

TVPaint 12 - false feedback from the Save progress bar
As I've been using TVPaint 12 more , I notice that when saving (especially saving a large project) the SAVE percentage bar gives false feedback in terms of the actual save time. For example: I initiate SAVE on an open project ... the progress bar shows 10% saved --- 28% --- 39% --- 55% --- 78% ---- ...

Re: Turbulence displacement
Here is another Line Boil Test. I used a layer of "Noisy Turbulence" , set to blend mode Overlay 2. The held line art layer had a very subtle amount of jitter applied using the Shaker FX (X = 0.1 ,Y =0.2), I also applied the Warp Grid distortion FX to have the character "breathing&quo...

LINE BOIL FX added to FX Stack
In this topic there is discussion of how to use Displacement Mapping FX to apply a "Line Boil" effect: https://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?p=137287#p137287 I sometimes use Turbulence displacement in AE to create a fake boil when I have a clean ink line. Is there an equivalent effect in...

Re: Turbulence displacement
I sometimes use Turbulence displacement in AE to create a fake boil when I have a clean ink line. Is there an equivalent effect in TVP ? I wanted to mention here that it would be great if a "Line Boil" FX would be added to the FX Stack as a standard feature, so a range of selected frames ...

Re: Keyframer should "see" Layers in Multiply blend mode from another Project
Hi, Dean and Matthieu - I'm glad to know there has been some progress on solving this issue . Thanks for the response. Slowtiger: we were thinking about adding a way to do this, indeed. I would prefer allowing users to choose between those two ways of handling Multiplied layers. I suppose having mor...

Re: Turbulence displacement
There's always confusion about which FX only work with a white fill and which work also with lines on transparent. I'm used to fill the frames with white, apply the FX, merge layers when needed, and finally apply scan cleaner. Indeed it is confusing. Thanks for reminding me about filling the line a...
