Display of the timeline as per project

Having the display of the timeline set/recorded as per project file and not linked to the general preferences. In other words, having the possibility to change the timeline from horizontal to vertical (for example) simply by a button inside the interface, and with the current setting kept within the...

Re: reduce line width on artwork

To accompany slowtiger's answer, here is an example using the Erode effect (under Stylize in the FX stack panel)

Changing the height setting too much might change the look of the brush you are using.

Re: Mistakes in the user guide

https://forum.tvpaint.com/download/file.php?id=29315 (obviously, if the colored pencil lines are blue pencil or green pencil, use the blue or green channel set to 255 and the other two channels set to 0) This is a very useful technique, thank you. ---------------------------------------------------...

Re: Improved Move, insert or copy - Function

+1 Like Animark and ZigOtto suggested, we could maybe have a 'Move & Insert Before' option, so we don't have to go back where the original instances are and have to delete them manually. Move and Insert-Suggestion.jpg A bit like in editing software: in Premiere Pro in Davinci Resolve in Media Co...

Re: Video Input not working in 11.7 (or 11.5.3)

What's the resolution on the Live View ? Well, in Dragonframe the video assist is 1056x704 but in TVPaint the only option I have is 1280x720 (which is a video format). I guess the utility fits whatever feed it receives into the dimension that a webcam would offer. It does means that black lines on ...

Re: Video Input not working in 11.7 (or 11.5.3)

I remember there was a list of specific Canon DSLR models that were compatible with TVPaint (on Windows-only) if you used the TVPaint Canon Video Plug-In . It seems that TVPaint recognises a Canon DSLR if used via the EOS Webcam utility . VideoInput-EOSWebcamUtilityPro.jpg I only tested it on Windo...

Re: Use of PNGs in After Effects

The AVIF format seems interesting for at least four reasons: can be lossless and/or lossy better compression keeping same quality ( compared to WEBP or JPEG for example ) it's 8bit compatible , unlike EXR it's royalty free unlike HEIC Nevertheless I can't find examples of this format being used in p...

Re: Use of PNGs in After Effects

What about WebP ? It seems that, like PNGs, WebP was made more for single images for the web, as opposed to image sequences. That didn't stop PNGs to be, it seems, widely used for image sequences, so maybe it could be the same for the WebP format. I would imagine that it is not so much the fact tha...

Re: Use of PNGs in After Effects

not sure if that is possible, TVPaint being 8 bit. Indeed, it might not. On the OpenEXR website , it doesn't expressively mention 8bit: Support for 16-bit floating-point, 32-bit floating-point, and 32-bit integer pixels. One of the possible practicalities of EXR has been mentioned here previously, ...

Use of PNGs in After Effects

Hello everyone. Here are some thoughts regarding After Effects and PNGs which might be of interest to anyone using both. In one of a series of interesting articles regarding performance in After Effects, the author Chris Zwar argues that PNGS are not recommended when compositing in After Effects, es...

Re: Recommended Video Editing Software

Hello everyone, here is my first contribution to this forum. A feature that might be of interest is the ability to create several timelines/sequences within one project file. Not all editing software have this option. In TVPaint terms, it would be like if there was the choice between a version where...
