Re: Wacom Cintiq 12WX

Thanks Klaus.

I called both Apple stores in my area and neither has the Cintiq for demo. I think they are preparing for the *NEXT BIG THING* iPad tablet to come out and don't want any competition.

Re: Wacom Cintiq 12WX

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know that Apple stores had Wacom Cintiq demos - good information. Yes - I have followed your experiences with the Cintiq with great interest Paul. It was the first thing I searched for because I remember you talking about it years ago. It's funny - but what has reall...

Wacom Cintiq 12WX

Hello everyone. I've been shamelessly lurking and hope you'll forgive me. I've been researching the Wacom Cintiq 12WX for possible purchase and was wondering if anyone here has one? 2 things that I've found off-putting are reports that there is a heat problem in the lower right-hand area of the scre...

Re: Definition - High vs Standard & Nonstandard

Terrence (great to see you again) you hit the nail on the head - one must love what they do. I think that also answers Paul's comment as well. Unless you really love what you are doing you will not be able to endure the long dark nights, the loneliness, the set-backs, the monotony and fatigue. It is...

Re: Definition - High vs Standard & Nonstandard

Thank you gentlemen for your knowledge and insight. From 720x480 to 1280x720 to 1920x1080. I wonder if next year it will be 4000 x 2000 and so on. This is the same issue I have with 3D. The constant escalation of medium requirements. Upgrade! Upgrade! Upgrade! Since I am a dabbling hobbyist and not ...

Definition - High vs Standard & Nonstandard

Hi Folks, I've tried working with HD (1280x720) 16:9 aspect ratio but it drags my computer performance down and creates really big video files. I've also worked with standard (720 x 480) but dislike the aspect ratio 4:3 Although 640 x 360 (50% of HD) is not listed as a typical size I like it because...

Re: Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

Sierra! Hello! What a SWEET, SWEET PUPPY!! OMG!! The cutest little guy - and THAT NAME!! LOL I Love it! So good to see you again! You went to Italy - How exciting! What is the difference between the Intuos 4 and 3. I saw an ad and I couldn't figure it out. I still have my trusty 3, not that I've use...

Re: Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

We were in Annecy with it and it's going now to Toronto and Ottawa, London and Pusan and that's it for this year. Weren't you working in a factory? Yes, I am a mechanical inspector by trade. I've been out of work since May due to shoulder surgery. Have had to learn how to do everything left-handed ...

Re: Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

Ah yes, the mouse in the blue cup -- now that wasn't that long ago was it? Tulip is done; I finished it in December and since then it's been primarily in the hands of the producers. Before the end of the year they will pick a distributor and it'll be hopefully released in art theaters. Sandra and I...

Re: Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

I see you were playing around with iClone. What do you think of it? It's a fun toy and could be useful for pre-viz but don't think it's good enough for production work. Yes , I got very active in the machinima community. I have made some wonderful friends there, but I just don't think it is the rig...

Re: Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

Hi Paul, I am not surprised you don't remember me, I produced nothing of merit with this software but I am a great admirer of your work; I purchased a DVD of your work and Sandra wrote the nicest note in it. I was wondering how you are coming on the Tulip movie? I used to be 'Anim8tor Cathy' from Di...

Hello Again - Back from a long hiatus

Hi Gang- I am back from the world of 3D animation. I learned a lot - mostly I learned that you have to keep spending money and upgrading if you want to work in 3D. The computer is never powerful enough, one never has enough hard drive space, etc. I also learned that I became so engrossed in the tech...
