Re: Render Camera to a New Project deletes frames from layer

It's possible that you didn't have the "Stretch to frame rate" box checked on the "Export Footage" window that comes up. Or it might need to be unchecked--I always forget and have to experiment with it if I'm changing frame rates like that.

Re: The Illusionist

I tend to show them only my own works and talk throughout the presentation with stop and goes, explaining technical or directional points, including where I see my mistakes and what I should have done to correct those. Despite the (what I think is accurate) justification for doing it this way, I'd ...

Re: The Illusionist

I agree, and I think you can point to Wall-E as a slower-paced, yet popular and successful film.

As an aside, when I landed on Apple's main website today, "My Dog Tulip" was the featured trailer on the front page.

Nice work. I love it when sound is a crucial feature of an animation.

Funny--I draw with my eyes open, but my drawings always look as if they were done with my eyes closed.

Re: About cel animation (flipping,colorizing,camerawork,etc..)

Paul--in regards to this, I'm curious about Sandra's coloring techniques. Does she use the fill and then touch up by hand, or some other method? Sandra never touches the bucket; I'm pretty sure she doesn't even know about the healing feature, or perhaps she once knew but has long since forgotten. S...

Re: finished work: The Animator's Way of Surviving the Crisis

I've purchased a DVD in the past from Don Hertzfeldt, the creator of "Rejected" and "Lily and Jim" etc. Very funny animated shorts in a stick-figure style that he sells himself through his Bitter Films (http://www.bitterfilms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

Congratulations, st. I don't post on the board too much, but I've been tuning in regularly and I've always enjoyed your animation style. Good luck with the transfers and the distribution deal.

I agree. I'm always intrigued by the amorphous faces on some of Klaus' characters. I'm reminded of the frog he used to have as an avatar.

Re: Animation Principles on Rainplace.net

Someone once told me (or I read somewhere) to remember that the eye is a big ball--we're only seeing that visible slice of it--and to treat the movement of the iris/cornea/pupil as it would act across the surface of a ball. Apparently it helps to pencil in the entire orb to visualize the movement.

Excellent news--thanks. I'm not looking to run them both at the same time, I just didn't want to completely uninstall Mirage.

TVPaint & Mirage together?

I've received my new copy of TVPaint, but before I install, I was curious if Mirage and TVPaint can live happily on the same drive. I know that in the "Getting Started" booklet it is recommended to uninstall any previous versions of TVPaint, but I'd like to keep Mirage around for a bit (at...

Mine is still held up in customs. I don't get it--I'd figure all of the packages go through with the same carrier, paperwork, etc. Hi grumblebly, I was just not knowing that ... I will try to get more infos tomorrow and then inform you. Apparently they needed some additional information (contents o...
