I had expected someone to bring up the movie Wall-E by now, but it didn't happen. Not yet in international release, perhaps?
I saw it on opening day, and just went to see it again. I thought it was technically amazing. The story was predictable, simple, and done well enough-sort of had a message, that worked into the story. Cute, but not obnoxiously so. On that level, it was enjoyable for what it was. No dialog for a good part of the movie, and that worked fairly well.
The animation, lighting, texturing, etc. were incredible. There was an astonishing amount of work put into this film. The Dreamworks animated thing trailer that came before the show was pitiful. Being a Disney movie didn't even ruin it. Disney seems to have just let it happen. It's almost out of the realm of 3D animation. An unreal reality that works. It would be great to be able to see this level of production value in other films (live, 3D, 2D-whatever).

Related, but not really: http://www.storyofstuff.com/ full of message, and bad animation. Wall-E seems to work better.
